Check out Arrondale homes to find one of Wilmington’s most desirable neighborhoods, adjacent to its sister neighborhood of Kirkwood. Arrondale real estate owners don’t have to join an HOA, thereby saving money on fees. Homes are one or two stories tall and range in size from around 1,100 to 2,200 square feet, with an average of 1,400 square feet. The houses typically have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Many homes have been updated and upgraded, with stainless steel kitchen appliances, wood floors, and new paint. Arrondale homes were all built between 1997 and 2001.
Many families find Arrondale to be an ideal development. There are quiet, wide sidewalks, perfect for walks and bike rides. The community is also very close to Veterans Park. The park has a fun playground for younger kids, as well as a basketball court and pickleball courts. There are nine lighted tennis courts. Groups enjoy getting together for volleyball games. It’s also the place for Little League baseball games, softball, and soccer. A couple of picnic shelters can be reserved for birthday parties, family reunions, and other get-togethers. Grills are located in the shelters, so you can hold a summer barbecue. Residents have easy access to both the beach and Cape Fear River. Get to either one within about five minutes by car.
The local public schools turn in strong scores on standardized testing and earn positive reviews from parents and students. Kids go to Edwin Anderson Elementary School, Charles P. Murray Middle School, and Eugene Ashley High School. There are also several parochial and private schools nearby, for more choices to suit different learning styles.
Wilmington has a thriving business community. The local chamber of commerce works hard to support local businesses, so it’s a good place to start out. There are also many national and multi-national companies with offices in the city, including Verizon Wireless, GE Aviation, and Corning.
