Hawkeswater Home Owners Enjoy a Stroll at Brunswick River Walk
One of the great things about owning a Hawkeswater home is the beautiful natural features in the community and the surrounding area. While lots of people are staying at home due to the coronavirus, Brunswick County parks are still open. Leland real estate owners can get out of the house and have fun in nature. A local favorite is Brunswick Riverwalk. Located in neighboring Belville, the riverwalk is about a mile from Hawkeswater. Get more fresh air and exercise by walking or riding bikes rather than driving over.
Have Fun Near Leland Real Estate on the River
Take a walk on one of the nature trails and see how many species of birds and animals you can find. Bring a pair of binoculars. Kids who like to draw might want to bring along a notebook and pencil to draw their favorite creatures and plants. Take a jog or go for a stroll on the walking trail. Get a view of the Brunswick River from the boardwalk. Honor the sacrifices and service of local vendors at the Veterans Memorial.
For those who enjoy fishing, bring your tackle and try your luck off the 125-foot long fishing pier. Check the tides and time your trip for a boating trip. Boat access is available for small craft like kayaks and canoes, as well as other small craft.
There is a playground and picnic area, too. Unfortunately these facilities are temporarily closed but will reopen once the coronavirus threat is over.
On weekends, there’s an open air farmers market. It opens at 10 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There’s plenty of space, so shoppers can practice social distancing. Seaview Crab Company is a regular vendor, selling fresh seafood. Get fresh bread from Great Harvest Bread Company. Pick up locally-sourced goods to bring back to your Hawkeswater home.
